INVISIBLE: A York Mum’s Life
As part of our 125th Rowntree Anniversary Poverty Map of York project, our Community Researchers created a powerful ‘day in the life’ story exploring the realities of being a busy mum in York today.
From juggling work and family life to the everyday challenges of living in York, the story offers an honest insight into one person’s lived experience.
We commissioned local animator Lou Cooper to bring the story to life, using visuals and audio created by our Community Researchers. We were delighted to share the finished animation at the One City, One Strategy: Ending Poverty Together in York event, hosted by the University of York and presented by Rachel Maskell MP.
At Lived Insights, we believe lived experience should help shape the policies and decisions that affect people’s lives. Creative storytelling is one way to make sure these real experiences are heard and understood.
We love how this animation has turned out and hope you do too!
