Dear Prime Minister letters (2024/2025)

Miles wrote and had published one of 15 letters, in collaboration with the Let’s End Poverty ‘Dear Prime Minister letters’ campaign which were presented to The Prime Minister on his hundredth day in office and brought up live in Prime Ministers Questions (PMQ) the following day. Miles has since received subsequent invitations to Parliament and various other Government departments, and the impact of these letters continue to influence each Ministerial Department, as recognised by Baroness Sherlock in Feb 2025.

Many of these letters were particularly moving, that is the feedback we hear from the Departmental Ministers and their staff. To give you a flavour, the topics ranged from children living in poverty to evictions, the crisis in housing availability and increasing unaffordable rent costs. Poverty truth commissions across the country are increasingly observing these many facets of life, so its vital that peoples experiences and voice are truly heart at the heart of Government and that they act now, not by the end of Parliament – that’s too late for so many people desperate for support.

We will continue to campaign, engage and invite people to share how changes can make huge differences to the way people live.
